Media Burn Artist Residency Program

GDDF provided Media Burn (http://mediaburn.org) two digitizing grants totaling $299,000 in 2009 and 2011, which now fuels a new artist residency program.  More details about Media Burn’s artist residency program can be found below:

Two artists-in-residence will be selected for 2018. They will receive:

  • 15 of their videotapes restored and digitized by Media Burn Archive, a leader in archival preservation. (Estimated retail value: $1,125-$2,175)
  • The 15 tapes will be stored in perpetuity in our vault and the digital files available for free public viewing at mediaburn.org.
  • Our collection has been viewed by more than 17 million people online.
  • Travel funding to Media Burn Archive in Chicago (if applicable)
  • $1,000 stipend
  • At least one public screening of their preserved work
